Why standard filtration may not remove varnish or moisture

Different contaminants behave differently and may require electrostatic cleaning or dehydration.

Mechanical filters are effective for particles within their rated range, but dissolved or emulsified water and varnish precursors behave differently. Oil analysis and system history should guide whether filtration, dehydration, electrostatic cleaning or an oil change is appropriate.
