A useful seal enquiry identifies the equipment, seal location, available dimensions, fluid, pressure, temperature and type of movement. Clear photographs of the failed seal, housing and mating surface can shorten the identification process.
Where a sample is available, protect it from further damage and note its installed orientation. Final selection should always be confirmed against the operating conditions.
